Glow Up at Goldbird
When Jo from Goldbird contacted me on Friday night and said ‘Are you doing anything tomorrow, would you like to come for an Olaplex treatment and a blow dry?’, it took me about 10 seconds to discard my plan of ‘tidying a room’ and say (shout) ‘YES PLEASE JO!’
The first lockdown was a curiosity - all vegetable growing, smelly sourdough starters and finding grey hair and general messiness a bit hilarious. The second and third lockdown, not so much. OK, I’ve done with the trainers now, the sourdough starter got chucked because I didn’t want to inflict it on the family and nobody grows vegetables in the winter. With the warmer weather coming, I’m desperate to discard the leggings and trainers and to GLOW UP a bit. So it was a lovely surprise to hear from Jo.
I’ve been a big Goldbird fan for nearly two years. I get my hair cut at Zebrafinch in Falmouth, but for colour and ‘fancy do’s’ it’s Aveda (and now Olaplex) at the new gorgeous salon on Lemon Street. They now have more space, as well as a beautiful room which is a bit quieter than the rest of the salon.
When I asked someone about Olaplex a while ago, they pointed me to all of the celebrities who change the colour of their hair as often as we have the proverbial hot dinner and suggested that they were able to do this because of treatments like Olaplex. The technical bit says that Olaplex ‘restores damaged and compromised hair by repairing from the inside out….once all the bonds are intact and in alignment, you have healthy, beautiful, shiny, touchable hair’. That’ll do me!
There are several products which you can use at home as well as in the Salon. These vary from shampoos, conditioners and styling products which you can use regularly and then there are masks and other treatments which you can use less frequently.
Why not chat to Jo or one of the team and see which one is right for you. All I can say is that my hair was so swishy and soft, I couldn’t go home and ‘tidy the room’, that would have been a travesty. So I called my long suffering husband, Mat (AKA Mr Secret Truro) and we took my swishy hair out for coffee, lunch and then drinks in the sunshine.
Thank you so much, Jo and Sammy. I had a lovely morning and it was such a treat! xx
